Iguazu Falls: Argentina and Brazil

EXTENSION TO IGUAZÚ FALLS

One of the most stunning natural spectacles in the world, Iguazú Falls stretches a full mile across the Rio Iguazú, with 275 falls plunging hundreds of feet in a mist-shrouded subtropical landscape. The cascades form part of the Iguazú National Park, known for more than 400 different species of birds. Paths, footbridges, and zodiacs can reach the Falls.

 

 Day 1:           Buenos Aires / Iguazú Falls

Buenos Aires to Iguazú, arriving the afternoon. You may decide to relax on the grounds of the hotel or choose optional excursions: mountain bike rides, boat crossings to San Martin Island, or hikes along the many trails around the falls.

Day 2:           Tour Argentine Side of Iguazú Falls

Enjoy a full-day tour of the Argentine side of the falls, including hiking the lower and upper trails of the falls and a visit to San Martin Island. Options for boat trip to the base of the falls or other excursions available within the area (additional cost).

 Day 3: Optional Morning Tour, Late Afternoon Flight to Buenos Aires

Morning free on your own, or optional excursion to Brazilian side of the fall OR 
Iguazú Forest Option (Argentinean Side)

 

1.     The Iguazú Forest is a large area of indigenous jungle, next to the National Park and not far from the town (7 km).  Here visitors can enjoy the forest with its rare foliage and animals, discovering its secrets located in its depths.  Aside from the “Special Canopy” activity, this enables visitors to swing from treetop to treetop seeing the jungle from a bird’s eye view. It also includes wet rappel, and trekking.

 

*  This excursion has 2 regular departures in the morning at 08:00 and in the afternoon at 14:00; the pick up time depends on the location of the hotels. It lasts about 3 hours. No meals are included in the price. Passengers should dress for active outdoor excursion (if it rains, hiking etc), as well as bring insect repellent. More details based on interest.

2.     Brazilian Side of the Falls (3 hours): from the Brazilian National Park, there are panoramic views of the falls which are almost 3 km long and 270 cascades. This tour takes a 1000 meter easy walk that lasts approximately 1 hr and starts from the Das Cataratas Hotel and finishes in the canyon of the Devil’s Throat. More details based on interest.

 Late afternoon transfer to the Iguazú Airport for late afternoon flights to Buenos Aires, then transfer from the domestic terminal to the international airport. B


Note: A visa is required to visit to the Brazilian side of falls. Visas can be obtained in Iguazú any day except Saturday, Sunday, or Monday for approximately $100+ however, we strongly suggest you obtain your visa prior to your trip.
